It is much nicer is person than the photo shows. I gave it as a gift, had it running in my house prior to wrapping it to make sure it ran ok. It kept perfect time. After I packed it up, I was sorry to have it gone as I missed the chimes. There are also settings to shut off the night chimes and to control the volume so it can be heard but not overpowering.
